Thank Allah Almighty for the success we have achieved since the GCC-Stat's founding in 2012. I would like to sincerely thank the entire team for their dedication and hard work in establishing a solid foundation that will support our future progress.

Our future vision is essential and is governed by two basic determinants: first, a well-thought-out development that maintains continuity between the  GCC-Stat’s past, present, and future without separation or interruption, and second, the connection with the GCC countries future visions. By focusing on our future, anticipating and analyzing its trends, we can build upon what has already been achieved and invested, paving the way for more advanced and promising stages of progress.

The GCC-Stat serves as a cornerstone of statistical activities in the GCC countries, acting as a key source of information that supports development efforts closely tied to statistical data. The success of our countries' development process is measured through data, information, and statistical indicators on demographic, social, economic, and environmental variables. Since its establishment, the GCC-Stat’s products have reflected this, underscoring the importance of its work within the broader system to promote comprehensive development and enhance the well-being of citizens.

The GCC-Stat is committed to offering a modern model that integrates statistical work with information systems, aiming to provide an informative framework that supports sound decision-making. This model is built on principles of reliability, credibility, and transparency, requiring continuous efforts to develop and maintain a robust information infrastructure based on solid foundations.       

The directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countires, have always served as a guiding beacon for all our efforts, inspiring diligence, hard work, perseverance, and a strong determination to succeed. These efforts are aligned with their visionary guidance and the roles defined within the GCC's framework, ensuring that the outcomes reflect their high aspirations.       

 

 

The GCC Statistical Centre (GCC-Stat) serves as the official hub for data, information, and statistics across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The center plays a pivotal role in advancing statistical and informational collaboration among national statistical centres and planning agencies within the GCC region.

The establishment of GCC-Stat was approved by the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council in September 2011. Its statute was formally adopted in December 2012 by the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, comprised of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the member states: the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, and the State of Kuwait.

Our Mission

To provide decision-makers, researchers, and stakeholders in the GCC countries with reliable and approved statistical data.     

• To build and enhance the statistical and institutional capacities of the GCC countries, ensuring they meet the evolving statistical requirements at both the regional GCC level and the international level.
• To sustainably enhance and improve the quality and quantity of statistical products.
• To showcase the GCC region as a unified economic and social bloc.
• To develop, expand, and promote statistical publishing.
• To establish and strengthen joint work programs between national statistical centres and the GCC-Stat.
• To align national statistical strategies in GCC countries with the requirements of joint statistical programs, adhering to international best practices.
• To foster a statistical culture, raise awareness, and promote the accurate and effective use of statistical data and information in decision-making and policy-making across the GCC countries.
• To ensure the GCC region maintains an active presence and meaningful participation in international statistical development.
• To ensure the GCC-Stat remains a sustainable and professional institution within the statistical system of the GCC countries.

• Collecting economic, social, demographic, agricultural, environmental, energy, and other data through national statistical centers and focusing on classifying, storing, and analysing them for effective utilization.
• Establishing comprehensive statistical databases covering various economic, social, demographic, agricultural, environmental, energy, and other fields, in collaboration with the national statistical centres of the GCC countries.
• Implementing joint statistical projects in partnership with the national statistical centres of the GCC countries.
• Developing and providing data, information, and statistical indicators about the GCC.
• Providing comprehensive, accurate, consistent, continuous, and up-to-date data.
• Providing national authorities, the General Secretariat and its affiliated agencies, as well as regional and international bodies, with accessible data and information.
• Developing strategic plans for the statistical work of the GCC in coordination with national statistical centres and other relevant entities as deemed necessary by the GCC-Stat.  
• Coordinating statistical work programs across member states in collaboration with national statistical centres.
• Representing the GCC in matters related to statistical affairs.
• Concluding international cooperation agreements to advance the GCC statistical system, in alignment with applicable legislation and in coordination with relevant authorities.
• Applying international standards across all areas and stages of statistical activities.
• Implementing measures to ensure the highest standards of quality in statistical activities.
• Providing technical assistance to enhance the statistical activities of member states.
• Enhancing the capabilities of member states in the field of statistical activities.
• Preparing and providing training programs to develop human resources working in the statistical field in member states.
• Sharing information and statistical indicators through diverse publication channels.
• Contributing to the development of a statistical culture and promoting statistical awareness.
• Undertaking any additional tasks and responsibilities within the GCC-Stat’s scope as assigned by the Board of Directors.
