The standing committees and working groups play a vital role in the governance structure of GCC-Stat, driving the roadmap and work program forward. Their contributions include harmonising and coordinating statistical efforts across the region, enhancing statistical capacities, and facilitating the collection of data and information from member states. Steps are taken to ensure their deliberations are technically precise, contextually relevant to the participating countries, and focused on practical, actionable outcomes. The work undertaken in these groups is an extension of the functional responsibilities assigned to states representatives within their respective national statistical agencies. All participants are expected to ensure that the groups are provided with appropriate and timely documentation. A detailed record of activities, decisions made, and recommendations issued by the groups will be maintained. Manuals, questionnaires, and technical documents developed by the GCC-Stat—and reviewed, enriched, and approved by the groups—will serve as essential references. These materials will be utilised by member states where applicable, supporting national contexts and contributing to the achievement of regionally agreed objectives.
